The Humanitarian and Charitable Society of Kosova was founded as the direct result of the difficult social situation that existed in Kosova during the last decade of the second millennium due to the uncertain political situation in the region.
The initiative for funding the Association was originally the idea of a group of intellectuals in Prishtina. Very soon the association spread out to all parts of Kosova, establishing branches and sub branches where around 7,200 volunteers were engaged in various activities.
The Society of Mother Teresa aims to help by building on an open Civil society, where the values of all the people will be respected and cultivated regardless of nationality, religion or race where the people will live side by side with mutual respect and tolerance.
The vision of such a Society is in full compliance with basic principles of the work of Mother Theresa, adapted by the Society as statutory principles such as:
Humanity, Benevolence, Reconciliation and Peace but above all, love and understanding.
